0. Introduction
Media Vision Group has developed a world unique operating system built with Linux for digital media distribution also called short for DMDS it is designed to control an unlimited amount of screens all around the world, centrally or locally with or without Internet connection (SSD USB 2.0 or 3.0). The only thing required to access and manage the system is a browser, for example Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.
Our system is completely cross-platform and can be used to handle content on any type of screen, phone or webpage - this is a versatile tool that you can use to control the output on many different sources from one input.
With our own built in video farm encoding system we can encode any input video format to any selected size/width (even QHD) - meaning simplicity for all users.
The systems reliability, safety and simplicity to use is a major key feature - with our system now anyone can manage and install a very complex and large digital signage network.
The systems core components are build from virtual operating system that loads Linux emulator technology. This means that for the end user you can turn your (any) computer into an advanced DDS (Dynamic Digital Signage) client with a push of a button - you dont need a harddrive or operating system our system boots from an external SSD disk.
A usual case we encounter today is take-overs of digital signage networks that dont work - using our USB SSD clients we can easily replace exiting signage systems, we can use the same screens and computers - and have the network up within no time.
The clients can show anything from a simpel 1080 (full hd) or QHD commerical movie to an advanced touch screen application - and load any type of external source.

1. Standards
Our system has the following ISO standards: ISO 27000 + ISO 27001 + 9001:2000
ISO 27000 + ISO 27001 = is the strictest international standard in information security management and enables companies to certify the security practices they adopt within their organization. Information, integrity, confidentiality and availability are the main aspects governed by this international standard which was first published in October 2005 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

FIPS 140-2 compliance certificate by NIST: The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication 140-2, FIPS PUB 140-2, is a government computer security standard used to accredit cryptographic modules.

We use standard ssl traffic through custom made proxy servers with web server certificates with ev - 128-bit to 256-bit in most browsers.
2. Playlist method
Our playlist order is controlled through the manager interface, were we can set user specific rights and easeliy control what users have accsess to. Below is an illustration on how the communication from the manager to the screens work.

3. Components
The system consists of three major components:

DMDS | Client (USB): Connects to any LCD, Plasma, OLED screen, projector or LED, and its main duty is to play movies 24/7 all year around.
DMDS | Server: The place where the playlists, schedules, movie content is created and managed. It controls what is shown on the clients (DMDS |Client). The server can be placed within selected cloud networks or privately hosted in our own secure colocation VPS network.
DMDS | Seeder (USB): Distributes all digital material it receives from the server (DMDS | Server) and distributes It to the clients (DMDS | Client). It works by using SWARM technology which means one or several seeders work together to distribute media content to the clients.
The Client and seeder are all virtual operating system and can be used to boot-up on any PC. No installation, No configuration, No Internet connection or configuration is required just plug n play the unit into the computers USB port (2.0 or 3.0) and start the computer.
4. Connectivity
Also revolutionary is the way our clients connect to the Internet - we have built custom signage linux servers for VPN, IPSEC and Proxy connections and everything hosted in our own private collocation area.
We also have an offline digital signage solution were we can update all our clients by using dynamic USB updating keys (manual mode without internet connection).

Our solution does all this automatically and more, this saves you a lot of money and time!
Please contact us for more information regarding the connectivity if you would like to learn more.
5. Security
A core feature in our system is the security. The security is much higher than your normal Internet bank. For the end user it is really easy to connect to our system, the user inserts an USB login key into any internet connected PC computer. The key then unlocks decrypts and connects to a Virtual Private Network and disconnect all other traffic temporarily, making the system highly secure.

There are several levels of security that the system can utilize depending on the customers network and security needs. All updates are sent through the encrypted (IPSEC) Virtual Private Network in encrypted packages (AES).
6. Distribution
Key feature that we have developed for the DMDS system is the distribution method - SWARM, other digital signage systems use server-client distribution (FTP). We use SWARM, which is basically thousands (or one) of computers helping each other distributing files (sharing bandwidth) and choosing the fastest most intelligent route. This gives us an enormous speed and a very high reliability this is unrivaled any other distribution method that exists today.

Only two or three clients connected to a SWARM is more than enough to show a major speed increase. It also saves you money on collocation and bandwidth costs.
By using SWARM technology we can cut cost on bandwidth enormously, to distribute files the same way and the same speed using client server role would demand allot more.

We also have different manual updating methods; these are divided into dynamic and static.
- The dynamic USB key updates itself infinite amount of times (reloads with new information playlists and more). - The static USB key is used once and then it can be discarded.
Please contact us for more information regarding the distribution system if you would like to learn more.
7. User interface - the manager
Unlike many other digital signage systems or managers out there today, our user interface is created with the latest web components. No installation of any local software is needed; all you need is a browser and a PC with an internet connection.

The user interface is built upon the same layout and style that any movie editing professional user (or novice) would recognize. Using simple drag n drop features and a very intuitive timeline design it is easy to create a playlist.
You can use any media format, combine audio and movie, schedule to the year, month, day, minute or hour!
You can also create interactive content were you can let the end user watching (viewing) the movie interact with it using touch screens.
Using our template wizard you can now create digital maps and guides that will totally revolutionize your thoughts and ideas on what is possible.
Please contact us for more information regarding the user interface if you would like to learn more.
8. Hardware
Our hardware client, server and seeder are all USB SSD disks that can be used to boot up on any PC out there today with a push of a button, no installation, no configuration!
The goal of our hardware USB SSD disks is to have a very high lifespan, since our first clients ten years back in time we have learned many things on how to achieve the highest possible standard on all our products. For many touchscreen interfaces we have built our own drivers and modules to get the best possible user experience and minimize problems.
We have developed several software programs (scripts) that automatically keep the system healthy and alive.
Our clients, servers and seeders are also built with SSD - extended duty solid state technology which further increases the health and lifespan of all our components.

We have a unique operating system and special signage hardware - Industry standard GPU technology is compiled (modules) into our software (OS).
9. Surveillance
All our equipment regularly reports in different data such as uptime status, screenshots, network information and more.
IP addresses, WAN addresses, NAT address, VPN addresses, one week history of screenshots and more is gathered and centrally stored.
All this data is then used to remotely access the clients or to detect whenever there might be a problem. Or just for monitoring, remotely viewing to see and confirm that everything is correct.
Because of this feature we can be 100% sure and guarantee to the customer that we always have everything online, and constantly monitoring all devices.
We also have alarm features build in such as e-mail and SMS were we are automatically are notified if any problem occurs.
Please contact us for more information regarding the surveillance interface if you would like to learn more.
10. Uses
Except for the normal digital signage area were today are incorporating our DMDS technology, the signage system we have has many more uses; we regularly come in contact with new different areas where we can incorporate our system.
Our playlists (movies) can easily be shown on; Internet websites, TV-channel on the internet, distributing media channel to other devices such as phones, streaming services, 3d environments such as games, communities and more.
Below is an image showing a 8 screen custom solution of a QHD resolution.

We use standardized technology to store and manage data, this means that we can easily extract or import data from other sources (SQL, XML, RSS or more). This means that we easily can create customized solutions.
Synchronize information between our signage system and WebPages (content management system) is one example of this. Many customers see the advantage of having one source of information, one place of update.
11. Media Content movie format
We incorporate .h264/AAC codec (.MP4) or .FLV (VP6) to distribute or stream movies, high quality (HD) and low quality (speed) services. Depending on the source and customer needs/demands.
We have a built in encoding redering swarm network that is used whenever neccessary - for instance if we always want to make sure that the end user is uploading/distribution the correct format - this is then used.

12. Operating system
All our software is built upon open source Linux based software, custom made by us for digital signage networks.
